2010 BOULDER-WHITE CLOUD WILDERNESS - A revised bill with 332,928 acres of Wilderness in three parts was introduced in Congress in April by Idaho's Senators and Representatives. Notable improvements: 14,000 acres were added to the previous CIEDRA (Central Idaho Economic Development & Recreation Act) bill. All SNRA land transfers have now been dropped. Livestock ranchers may choose to permanently retire federal grazing permits. Read S3294. Learn more about CIEDRA.

2010 TOUGH TIMES FOR IDAHO'S WOLVES - now delisted from Federal protection, it's been a deadly year for wolves. Hunters shot 188 wolves in Idaho's first wolf hunt and over 100 wolves were killed by government agents, because of conflicts with livestock. Included in the mortality was the entire Basin Butte Pack near Stanley, ordered killed by IDFG during Thanksgiving week. The Phantom Pack near Ketchum was decimated in the hunting season and only a few pack members remain. Read more and how you can help.
